Camera, color identification and neutral calibration
Opsino uses the rear camera to estimate the color in your selected measurement area. Current camera frames and derived color values are processed temporarily in your iPhone’s memory. Neutral calibration to account for lighting also takes place on the device. Camera images may include people or personal belongings, so choose the measurement area deliberately.
Opsino does not create photo or video recordings in your library, upload camera images or keep a permanent measurement archive. The latest reading and neutral calibration are held only in memory for the current session. We cannot access your camera images or readings.
Purpose, legal basis and camera permission
Processing serves only the color identification and calibration you request. Where personal data is processed under our responsibility, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR is the basis for providing the requested app function. Camera access also requires your separate iOS system permission. This technical permission is distinct from the legal basis for processing.
You may change or revoke camera permission at any time in iPhone Settings. Color identification is unavailable without camera access. The measurement function requires neither an account nor an internet connection. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Controls and local retention
The measurement circle, color names, guidance and calibration are processed locally. When VoiceOver is enabled, the displayed results and guidance are announced using iOS accessibility features. Opsino does not use a microphone for this or send results to its own speech service.
Camera frames are continuously replaced by new frames. The displayed reading and neutral calibration are not saved permanently and are lost when the app process ends. Briefly switching to another app does not necessarily end that process. There is no server-side record or registration for us to delete.
Apple App Store and system services
Once Opsino is offered on the App Store, Apple processes data for download, installation and its own system services under its own responsibility. Depending on your Apple settings, this may include diagnostics and usage data. This is distinct from collection by Opsino. See Apple’s privacy policy. Apple may also process data outside the EU or EEA; that policy explains recipients and transfer arrangements. Opsino itself does not send camera images or readings to Apple or to its own servers.
Website data processing
The provided AppsByMow website uses no tracking cookies, advertising or analytics scripts. Images, fonts and scripts are served by the website’s own host. Language follows the page address; no browser language preference is stored for this purpose. Linked external pages are requested when you open their links.
On the AppsByMow parent website, you can dismiss a privacy notice by selecting “Got it”. Only after this click do we save the value true under appsbymow_privacy_notice_dismissed in your browser’s local storage. On later visits, we read this preference to keep the notice hidden as you requested. It contains no visitor identifier, is not sent to us and remains until you clear the website’s browser data. Storage access serves only the dismissal feature you requested (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG); insofar as personal data is involved, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, with a legitimate interest in respecting this display preference. If browser storage is blocked, the notice can still be dismissed for the current page view. This click does not grant consent to tracking or other services.
