OpsinoStart with automatic camera settings
You can measure straight away. Opsino uses automatic camera settings; neutral calibration is optional. Measure again when the light changes. If needed, press and hold Measure to open Recheck lighting.
Use a neutral reference for calibration
Press and hold the circle, then fill the whole calibration frame with a matte, neutral gray or white surface in the same lighting as your object. Choose Calibrate. Calibration lasts for up to 60 seconds. After that, or after a camera, flashlight or app change, the next reading uses automatic settings again.
Use the flashlight thoughtfully
Tap the lamp button to switch your iPhone flashlight on or off. Press and hold to choose from three brightness levels. With the light on, measure from around 30–40 cm (12–16 inches). Avoid shiny patches: reflections can hide color information.
Green or cyan? A shade between two names
The pale guitar finish in this example is identified as green. “Surf Green” names a particular finish; Opsino uses broader color names. Blue-green shades like this can fall between green and cyan depending on lighting, white balance and the selected patch, so the result can vary.
